Resource Protection/Transportation Study Intern

Yosemite National Park. Certain positions will be located at Sequoia National Park.

Your responsibilities will include interviewing visitors and observing a variety of behavioral metrics adhering to a regimented protocol to ensure consistent sampling. You will also conduct data collection possibly in a wilderness setting, 8 miles from a trailhead at elevations up to 11,000 feet, or at a roadside attraction site and document observation variables regarding visitor use. This position will work with a variety of projects within the Visitor Use and Social Sciences Branch at Yosemite National Park.We will hire several individuals for this position over the course of the summer.   Interns will work for 12 weeks, however the start or end dates will vary depending on projects. Your responsibilities will include interviewing visitors and observing a variety of behavioral metrics adhering to a regimented protocol to ensure consistent sampling. You will also conduct data collection possibly in a wilderness setting.

Required Skills: 
Ability and willingness to undergo a required criminal history background check; over the age of 21; BA/BS in recreation and leisure studies, recreation management, natural resources, biology, sociology, psychology or other related field; punctual.
