The duty and work station will be at Trail Cabin Administration Site, one hour north of the Clifton Ranger District Office at an elevation of 7,000 feet.
This is a recreation/trails position on the Clifton Ranger District of the Apache/Sitgreaves National Forest in southwest Arizona. The work requires moderate to strenuous physical exertion including walking on steep or uneven terrain, bending, lifting, carrying packs and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds or more and on occasion working around or with pack horses. Work will often require camping out with long pack in and pack out. Work is performed outdoors where there is exposure to extremes in weather and temperature. Work sites will vary from administrative areas to wilderness settings often living and working under primitive conditions. The work requires the use of saftey equipment such as boots, gloves, goggles and hard hat (the forest service will provide all neccessary saftey equipment with the exception of boots). Personnel will be expexted to work with minimal supervision and make work and saftey decisions concerning weather and conditions.
