Recreation Management Intern
Fishermen's Bend Recreation Site located 1 mile West of Mill City OR.
Also includes, Elk Horn Valley Campground, Canyon Creek Day Use Area, Yellow Bottom Campground & Day Use Area, Dogwood Day Use Area, and Old Miners meadow
Position decription: •Act as a public information source for visitors. Answer visitor questions about the park, fees for facilities and the surrounding area. Hand out brochures and maps. Answer the office phone if needed. Inform visitors of site regulations as needed (we will provide this information). Educate, not enforce rules. May include occasional need for resolving conflicts with visitors. Acting as a communications relay such as in an emergency, or when a child is lost. •Volunteer and Work Crew Assistance. Assist with leading work crews and volunteers for special projects. Volunteers/work crews may include, but are not limited to: OSU Extension W3/Youth Enviro Squad; High School Groups; Boy/Girl Scouts; Linn County Juvenile Restitution Crews. •Recreation Site Cleaning. Duties include, but are not limited to: campsite and picnic site raking and litter pickup; garbage and recycling collection and transport; group facility prep and cleaning; keeping the office and maintenance buildings clean. •Recreation Site Maintenance. Including, but not limited to: Pruning, mowing, weeding, and using weed trimmers on grounds and trails. Blowing and sweeping roadways and trails/paths. Digging and filling holes and trenches. Working with concrete. Fence and barrier repair and construction. Painting posts, signs, fences, structures, etc. •Restroom Cleaning. Cleaning/scrubbing toilets, urinals, sinks, and walls. Emptying and transport of restroom garbage. Sweeping and mopping floors. Restocking supplies as needed.
