Recreation Intern
Wildwood Recreation Site is located in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains approximately 15 miles east of Sandy and 45 miles east of Portland. Mt. Hood, Oregon's tallest mountain and major tourist hub, is approximately 10 miles west of the park. The township of Welches, about 1 mile from Wildwood, provides basic essentials such as restaurants, shops, a grocery store, gas station, and a post office.
You will help maintain recreation sites and facilities, provide visitor contact, and work on a variety of special projects. You will also assist with trail work and work with other trail crews such as AmeriCorps, Columbia River Youth Corps, and the Northwest Youth Corp (possible). EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES: You will be close to Portland, Gresham, Mt. Hood, the Salmon, Clackamas, Columbia and Santiam Rivers. All of which provide many opportunities for hiking, biking, climbing, fishing, sight seeing, and scenic drives.Intern will live in a relatively new 4 bedroom manufactured home at Wildwood Recreation Site. They will have there own bedroom but will share a bathroom with another individual. The remainder of the house (kitchen, dining room, and living room) will be shared with three other seasonal employees/interns.
