Raptor Intern

There are many outdoor recreational opportunities in Yosemite National Park, including backpacking, rock climbing, mountaineering, bicycling, birding, fishing, rafting, swimming, and hiking.

Intern will survey for cliff-nesting raptors, including Peregrine Falcons and Golden Eagles in front-country and remote wilderness locations.  Primary field duties include: conducting surveys and recording observations of breeding behavior of birds of prey at potential and historical cliff habitat and assessing the need for climbing closures.  Requirements include prior experience observing raptor behavior, including ability to look through a spotting scope for 4-hours at a time, enthusiastic and positive attitude, good work ethic, diligence in data collection, ability to hike long distances wearing a heavy pack, and excellent observation skills.
