People mentioned more than once how beautiful our city is -- the flowers blooming next to the recreation center, the sunshine on the bright green grass, the wild irises mixed in with the native bunch grasses along the nature path. Others talked about all the different people who gathered to take action for their environment. It was the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and we were there to serve.

People mentioned more than once how beautiful our city is -- the flowers blooming next to the recreation center, the sunshine on the bright green grass, the wild irises mixed in with the native bunch grasses along the nature path. Others talked about all the different people who gathered to take action for their environment.
The SCA Bay Area's Earth Day crew was at Dimond Park last Saturday, with the Friends of Sausal Creek and ARAMARK volunteers, to pull up invasive plants in the native demonstration garden, remove mulch from the nature trail to put around the native plants, and then remake the trail with crushed granite. It was the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and we were there to serve.
