ARAMARK-a leader in food services, facilitates management, and uniform and career apparel - and the Student Conservation Association have teamed up to offer a Sustainability Internship at the Methodist Hospital System Food Services, managed by ARAMARK. ARAMARK has been a partner with the Methodist Hospital System since 2001 with increased responsibilities annually. This institution is known for their commitment to teaching and academics with the objective to improve world health. The Sustainability Intern will focus on health and wellness initiatives in the dining operations, which include menu planning, menu program development, supply chain (i.e. ingredient sourcing), menu labeling, nutrition and wellness education and engagement. Projects may be operational but will also include elements of education and marketing to support effective implementation. The intern will be assisting in the development of menu programs for customers to advance health and wellness as well as address special dietary considerations, such as gluten and/or specific allergen. The intern will market the programs system wide and monitoring the results. The Sustainability Intern will serve as a key resource in supporting and advancing ARAMARK's commitment to sustainability at the Methodist Hospital System in Houston, TX.
