GirlVentures: Seeking Full-Time Program Director (Location: San Francisco)
GirlVentures’ mission is to empower adolescent girls to develop and express their strengths through school year and summer outdoor adventure and leadership courses. Our expedition-style summer programs involve rock-climbing, sea kayaking, canyoneering and backpacking. Our school year programs include an afterschool rock-climbing mentorship program, the youth advisory board and community courses. Our holistic curriculum intentionally empowers girls to live healthy lives, relate wisely to one another and the environment, and lead with compassion. Through their experiences, girls bring back a renewed sense of character and confidence to their homes, schools and communities.
GirlVentures deliberately brings together girls from diverse backgrounds to explore self, community, culture, conflict resolution techniques and leadership styles. They learn to be inclusive leaders, make thoughtful decisions, develop effective communication skills, become strong allies, and build healthier communities.
