2013 Summer Conservation Crew Program for High School Aged Students 15-19 yrs old from DC, VA, & MD.
SCA's Summer Conservation Crews are teams of high school students working in local parks for six weeks over the summer. From July 1st to August 9th, students work 35hrs a week in National Capital Region parks with one day each week reserved for environmental education field trips. Transportation will be provided from an assigned metro stop and students will return to that designated stop at the end of the workday.
Students in the summer program will:
- Work in a local park doing hands on conservation work
- Join a team of local teenagers making a difference in the DC Community
- Receive green job-readiness training, learn how to use hand tools, go on environmental education field trips, go camping, and help your community by improving local parks.
- Earn an hourly wage ($7.25/hr) or get community service hours

The program is very competitive and only students who answer the essay questions thoroughly will be allowed to participate in the program. If you are accepted into the 2013 Summer Program, we will send several forms that you'll need to fill out and get signed by a parent/guardian before the start of the program. This includes a medical form and payroll paperwork. We'll also schedule a mandatory orientation meeting (in June) that will give you a chance to meet SCA DC program staff, complete necessary paperwork and ask any questions you might have about our summer program.
Please email scadc@thesca.org [4] once your application is complete. You can expect to hear from us within 2 weeks of completing your application.
