Good.is is an online and print magazine dedicated to social causes. Subscription fees to their print magazine go to charities. (No SCA is not one of their charities, but we're working on it!) Good has gotten quite the rave since its inception in 2006. Recently, it merged with Jumo, the social networking site for nonprofits started by Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes. So, we'll definitely be watching them.
Other sections to keep on your radar include:
- GoodVideos [3]: Good features all kinds of vidoes. A recent feature that caught our attention? The Khan Academy [4], a revolutionary new approach to education. We at SCA believe in hands-on, experientially-based education. This academy takes technology and student-centered education to a whole new level.
- GoodFinder [5]: "A community collection of all things good" is what they call the Finder. This is where Good members share thoughts, links, ideas, etc with the rest of the Good community. Example of a recent post: "Thanks to her newest album 'Biophilia', Bjork is officially the world's coolest science teacher." We love cool science teachers!
SCA keeps tabs with Good.is so we too can help move the world forward. What other sites, videos or books are you watching? Let us know by posting a comment.
