SCA Houston is now recruiting for our 2011-2012 School Year Program! Our program takes students camping one weekend a month from December through April. On those weekends we do a conservation service project (trail building/maintenance, habitat restoration, etc.), environmental education and outdoor recreation (hiking, kayaking, fishing, archery, etc.). It's a great opportunity for students to earn volunteer service hours, meet new friends from all across Houston, give back to the community and have a lot of fun! In addition, some members that complete the program will be eligible for scholarships to a SCA National Crew and we'll send them out to a National Park to live and work for the summer with students from all over the US.
If you are a high school student (age 15-19) interested in joining our School Year Program, our applications are online at go.to/scahouston, or you can contact us at 713.520.1835 or scaHouston@thesca.org [1].
If you are an adult (21 or older) and have a valid driver's license and experience working with high school youth and conservation, you can apply for a part-time Crew Leader position by sending your resume to t scaHouston@thesca.org [1] or call for more information at 713.520.1835.
