(CHARLESTOWN, NH, September 24, 2009)---The Student Conservation Association (SCA), the nation's leading provider of conservation service opportunities for youth, has received The Corporate Fund Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management. The award, given in honor of Walter J. Dunfey, was issued at a September 18th ceremony in Concord, NH.
"The SCA is grateful for this prestigious recognition and proud to be a part of the New Hampshire nonprofit community," says SCA President Dale Penny. "As we nationally pursue our mission of building new generations of conservation leaders, it is especially rewarding to be acknowledged by and among our home state peers."

For more than one-quarter century, The Corporate Fund has presented the annual award to organizations demonstrating exemplary nonprofit management practices. In addition to the SCA, other 2009 award winners were Granite State Independent Living of Concord and Partnership for Successful Living (a/k/a Harbor Homes) of Nashua.
"The 2009 Dunfey Award recipients represent the very best in a rich pool of healthy, vibrant organizations that are meeting critical community needs in the Granite State every day," says Byron Champlin, assistant vice president and program officer with Lincoln Financial Group and chair of The Corporate Fund panel.
The Corporate Fund is an initiative of 11 New Hampshire corporations in partnership with the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. Since 1983, The Corporate Fund has provided more than $3.5 million in grants, training and technical assistance to improve the stability and effectiveness of New Hampshire nonprofit organizations. Current members of The Corporate Fund are: Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Bank of America, Citizens Bank, FairPoint Communications, Fidelity Investments, Hitchiner Manufacturing Company, Inc., Lincoln Financial Group, New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, Northeast Delta Dental, Public Service of New Hampshire, and TD Banknorth.
