This internship provides a combination of experience in both cultural landscape and historic structure preservation. You will receive technical training by hands on use of modern equipment used to duplicate historic buildings features. Historic carpentry, masonry, painting and plastering is a major feature of this internship, as well as historic grounds maintenance and rejuvenative pruning, trimming and lawn care. You will work alongside skilled woodcrafters, painters, and grounds preservationists.EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES: Opportunity to visit other nearby historic sites to provide a variety of diverse grounds and historic structures. Buildings restoration projects include the restoration of a historically significant lattice fence and spruce pole fence.
