Selection Process

Conservation Crews

Both the Crew Leaders and the Members are selected by SCA and assigned to your site
You will be contacted directly by the Crew Leaders to begin the project planning process, you will also be briefed and updated on the Member selection process

The final selection of your prescreened SCA Intern is your decision.
Once you have submitted your SCA Intern Request Form to us, we will post the Internship opportunity and begin generating a list of interested candidates.
Approximately three months before your position starts, you will receive a group of prescreened applicants. (If your request is made less than three months before the start date, applications will be forwarded to you as soon as they become available – often in two to four weeks.)
We strongly recommend that you review applications and contact the candidates to discuss the position requirements within one week of receiving the applications. For more detailed information about selecting your Intern, please review Key Steps to Selecting an SCA Intern.
When you offer the position to a candidate, obtain verbal confirmation of the candidate’s acceptance and agreement upon the start/end dates.
Remind the candidate if special clothing, gear, or personal transportation is required for the position.
Following the candidate’s acceptance, contact your designated SCA representative immediately to inform them of your selection.
SCA will send confirmation of acceptance to the Intern that includes additional required paperwork.
You will also need to sign and return a funding agreement before the intern can begin their position.

Shortly thereafter, you will be contacted directly by the Project Leader to begin the project planning process. At this time, you will also be briefed and updated on the Member selection process.
