Your duties will include collecting data for a visitor monitoring survey, providing visitor assistance while monitoring campgrounds and recreation areas, administering a gypsy moth trapping program in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service, and participation in volunteer project events. You will assist Ranger staff in providing boat patrols of lake resources, perform trail system or recreation area improvements, maintain project signage and bulletin board displays, plus you'll develop and maintain a wildlife food plot area. In addition, you'll provide multiple interpretive program opportunities to visitors, and prepare project level public service announcements for local distribution.EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES: The area surrounding eastern Kentucky is steeped in history and diversity. You may take advantage of the many opportunities to explore the region - in everything from pioneer camps, rock climbing adventures, blue grass music, coal mining camps, hiking and backpacking, to water sports and ATV trails. All are within a one hour drive of the project office.
