Golden Gate National Park - 2008/03/18 12:53 If you are looking for a great job this spring-summer, working in a National Park right here in the Bay Area, the Golden Gate National Parks are looking for you!

Positions Available: Over 20 jobs are available in visitor education, maintenance, natural resource stewardship, and law enforcement. These jobs will be in locations throughout the park, including Alcatraz, Fort Point, Crissy Field, Marin Headlands and Muir Woods.

Park Rangers: Explain park resources to help visitors, and help instill a sense of the importance of protecting parklands.

Park Guides: Deliver programs to park visitors, and provide information to help visitors get the most out of their time in the park.

Maintenance/Natural Resource Workers: Accomplish the important job of keeping the parks in good shape. Help work on park trails, buildings and open space, and improve sensitive resources areas in parks.

Law Enforcement: Help protect park resources and keep the park safe for visitors.

When: This year - Spring to the end of September.

Pay Rates: From $12.17-$19.66, depending on education and experience.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent experience. Some college is preferred.

Special Requirements:
· Valid driver's license required for many of the jobs.
· Ability to pass background investigation.
· Car required for some jobs because some locations are not served by public transportation.
· Current commission required for law enforcement positions.
· Desire to work hard, be well groomed, and interact positively with park visitors are requirements of all positions.
