Rivendell Trails Coordinator
Half time Position
April 2006
Rivendell Trails Association and Rivendell Interstate School District (RISD) are seeking an energetic, environmentally committed individual to coordinate Trail-based activities with the RISD curriculum and to coordinate the maintenance and management of the 36-mile Cross-Rivendell Trail in the four Rivendell towns – Fairlee, Vershire and West Fairlee, VT, and Orford, NH.
Qualifications:
Prior experience with and love of outdoor experiential education
Ability to enthusiastically lead youth and community adults in the construction and maintenance of hiking trails
Ability to work with teachers and students k-12 to develop connections between classroom, Trail, and the community at large
Familiar with trail construction and maintenance including safe use of brush and chain saws, or willingness to learn
Experience in grant development, budget management and fundraising
Strong organization and planning skills, demonstrated ability to work independently
Prior experience with a non-profit organization, involved in management and coordination of volunteers.
