Gifford Pinchot National Forest Trail Team Member Northwest Service Academy AmeriCorps
Service Dates: Position Available Now (Serve for 23 wks/900 hrs of service) Mt. Adams Center
Mt. Adams Center Gifford Pinchot (GP) Trail Team is composed of five members and two Team Leaders. The team will focus on trail work in front and back country settings throughout the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, specifically Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument and Mt. Adams. The team may also be engaged in a variety of restoration projects such as building riparian fences, invasive plant removal and tree planting.
Residential Summary:
Based out of the Mt. Adams Center in Trout Lake, Washington, the GP Team will spend the majority of their term at the Mt Adams Center. When working at Mt. St. Helens the team will camp at project sites for the work week. On off days and while working on Mt. Adams the team will stay at the Mt. Adams Center. All team members assist with residential chores such as meal preparation, cleaning and recycling at their housing site, the Center and at camping sites.
