Field Crew Member (2 positions) - 2008/07/30 18:27
EarthCorps, a Seattle-based nonprofit with a mission to build global community through local environmental service, has the following temporary, non-exempt positions open late-August to mid-December 2008 to complete environmental restoration projects throughout the Puget Sound Region.
FIELD CREW MEMBER-- Duties & responsibilities: hands-on work in environmental restoration including stewardship, invasive plant removal, native plant installation, stream restoration, and/or trail work; maintenance of tools and equipment; active participation in pre and post project meetings, reviews and tailgate safety sessions; safety of themselves, their fellow crew members and members of the public. Qualifications: Associates or bachelors degree (received or in progress) in conservation related field, e.g. ecology, forestry, wildlife management; knowledge of environmental restoration principles, techniques, stewardship; demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team; ability to work under physically demanding conditions, lift 50 pounds and operate hand & power tools; knowledge of Pacific northwest native plants a plus; valid first aid and CPR certification. Competitive salary and a great work environment. Five - ten positions available and open until filled with the hiring process to begin in late June/ early July.
