Road To Nowhere/ Lakeshore Trail - 2006/07/07 02:05
This trail starts out really nice at the tunnel in Bryson City NC... there is a very interesting story behind the tunnel and never finishing the road that you can just google and read tons about it.
I wasn't very impressed with the rest of the trail because of the very low maintance... but if you have been on the trail, you know what i'm talking about! :(
Of course, the trail is moderate to strenous, but the hike itself would be nice if you are not rushed, nor in a hurry to get to your campsite. Not many things to see along the way, very little views because of the trails uphill and downhill slopes, but when the views are seen, its amazing!
Once you actually get to the lake, (13 miles later) its a wonderful lake, but word of advice, campsite 98 is not a very upscale/exciting campsite...
Its nice when its not made completely of mud, and Chambers Creek runs right next to the campsite which is really nice to listen to at night...
If you ever find your way in the lakeshore trail.. take your time and enjoy it!
