Graduate Fellowship Programs
The Science to Achieve Results (STAR)Fellowships and the Greater Research Opportunities (GRO) Graduate Fellowships fund advanced degrees and careers in environmental science and engineering. They support full-time students in two-year masters or three-year doctoral degree programs usable over 4 years. STAR fellowships can be used at any accredited US college or university, and GRO fellowships can be used at four-year fully accredited institution of higher education with limited funding for research and development. There is an annual $20,000 stipend, $5,000 for expenses and $12,000 for tuition and fees.
GRO Undergraduate Fellowship Program funds the last two years of an undergraduate program in environmental studies. There is a $500 monthly stipend, $2,500 expense allowance, and up to $10,000 tuition and fees. The EPA also provides a summer internship at an EPA research laboratory or other facility.
