EarthCorps Program Manager - 2008/04/04 07:20
EarthCorps, a Seattle-based nonprofit with a mission to build global community through local environmental service, is seeking a full-time Corps Program Manager to coordinate and lead the many elements of this dynamic conservation corps program. With participants from around the U.S. and the world, the program provides a hands-on service learning program that is oriented around vital environmental restoration work in and around King County. The Corps Program Manager is responsible for the overall direction and leadership of the corps program which involves two unique but similar programs for up to 45 young adults ages 18-25. This position works closely with other program staff to ensure that the overall programming meets organizational and annual program goals. This position is 90% office-based and 10% field based.
Specific duties include: Hiring, training and evaluating program staff; overseeing corps member recruitment, education and safety; managing AmeriCorps partnerships and related reporting; ensuring a high quality program for all participants; provide regular support, guidance and feedback to participants; work to create a collaborative and team driven program that delivers a high quality program to all participants; support the organization’s mission by engaging in meetings, trainings and inspiring new ideas and solutions.
Qualifications required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience and 3 years working for a conservation corps or similar organization; demonstrated management skills including staff supervision and development; two years supervising and working with young adults; education and/or experience related to habitat restoration with Northwest native plants and urban forests; ability to work independently in an office and field setting, maintain self-motivation and persist in the face of obstacles; excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
