I was Born and raised in the quiet North Idaho town of Coeur d’ Alene. I graduated from Idaho State University in 2005 with a BS in Ecology. I started doing trail work in 2006 with the Northwest Service Academy. While with the NWSA I lead crews throughout Oregon and Washington. After which I spent two years teaching English in Taiwan. Returning from Taiwan I was fortunate enough to get involved with the SCA , first leading a crew in the Eldorado National Forest, CA, leading two crews on the Florida National Scenic Trail and now leading a crew in the Olympic National Forest. I hope to continue working outdoors in some capacity. I have the great opportunity of showing people the amazing natural world that surrounds us, my passion for the outdoors and trail work and plan on doing it for many years to come.

Sadie Jo Borneman, 24

I am a Wisconsinite named Sadie Jo Borneman. I am 24 years old and from Chippewa Falls, WI. I am the youngest of four children in a family of six. I recently graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth in December of 2009. There I majored in Psychology and minored in Outdoor Recreation Education. My major being concentrated on group dynamics relating to therapy in different settings. My minor entailed many of my interests which included; leading trips into recreation/wilderness setting. Many of these trips were into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and surrounding areas of the North Shore. There were many winter camping trips. After graduating I worked on a homestead leading dog sledding trips in the Northwood’s. This was perfect for me and my husky Burke. The stillness of the winter will always bring memories of mushing no matter where I go. In the future I aspire to do something dealing with therapy in an outdoor setting. Hopefully using the skills I acquire on my life journey to help others experience the outdoors. I am also very interested in environmental education, things such as leading trips to after school programs. We shall see what life has in store for me. And until then I am enjoying the ride…
