The Alliance for Climate Protection - Repower at Home Field Intern

Start Date: Early – mid September
End Date:  Early – mid December

Summary:

America has a tradition of social reform rooted in strong community-driven organizing. Like social movements of the past, solving the climate crisis will require committed, grassroots leadership driving change from the ground up.  Repower at Home is building the movement of community leaders and local organizing teams dedicated to solving the climate crisis, beginning where it is most personal – at home.

As a Repower at Home intern you will work directly with our field organizers to engage communities in the DC area and across the country in leading the clean energy movement, reducing energy waste by taking simple actions at home, and supporting change at the local and national level.

The internship is very hands on, and a good candidate is detail-oriented, loves talking to people (you’ll spend a lot of time talking to our volunteers on the phone and face to face), and is enthusiastic about Repower at Home’s mission. A sense of humor and a team-oriented attitude are essential.

This is an unpaid position, based in Washington DC.  Hours are flexible, but candidates should be available at least 20 hours a week for the course of the semester.  Students and recent graduates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
·     Assist staff conduct outreach and organize community meetings and trainings.
·     Help manage field data and administrative support for the Repower at Home website and database.
