Certification Intern- Wildlife Habitat Council
Description
The intern reports to the Certification Manager and provides vital assistance and support to the Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) Certification Department. The position is in the Silver Spring, MD office. This is a temporary, part-time position. The intern should be available in August, and possibly in September. Schedule and duration are flexible.
Duties and Responsibilities
. Write and proofread press releases;
. Review applicants' wildlife management plans and Wildlife at Work(SM) certification applications;
. Answer WHC members' questions regarding certification and award applications via the phone and email;
. Update MS Excel sheets on a daily basis; and
. Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
. Undergraduate degree OR credits towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in wildlife biology, natural resources, biology, animal science, or related field preferred.
. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
. Proficiency in computer usage, including MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and other computer software
. Excellent interpersonal skills
. Writing and proofreading skills
. Customer service skills
. Attention to detail
. Ability to multitask
Compensation
Wildlife Habitat Council can work with universities/colleges if college credits are desired. Compensation commensurate with experience.
