MAPPING/GIS SPECIALIST
for the Resource Conservation District of Greater San Diego County
This is a temporary, full-time, hourly, grant-funded position.
This position will coordinate the mapping activities of the Oak Tree Mortality/Fuel Reduction Program, as directed by the Resource Conservation District of Greater San Diego County (RDC). Job skills include designing, developing, and delivering preliminary maps showing location, parcel boundaries, vegetation types, and aerial photography information, in support of the Oak Mortality program. Additionally, this position coordinates with the US Forest Service (USFS) to map GPS locations and boundaries for protected areas, and physical features of areas identified.
REQUIREMENTS: Position requires minimum three years mapping/GIS experience. Fire prevention background helpful. Computer literacy/experience with ArcView and other mapping software and computer literacy in all MS Office Suites software, with Excel experience a must. Good driving record and proof of insurance required.
Pay Range: $25-$30 per hour, depending upon experience and availability of funding.
