Joe Forsyth - Project Leader

Joe Forsyth, Project Leader

Joe began his relationship with the SCA in 2006 as a Conservation Intern on the Salmon-Challis National Forest in central Idaho. He joined the Forest Service as a seasonal Trails crew leader for 2007 and 2008, working in the Frank-Church River of No Return Wildernss in Idaho. Graduating from Bard College with a B.A. in Literature in the spring of 2009, Joe decided the time was right to challenge himself as a leader and signed on to teach and mentor high school students with the SCA's National Conservation Crew program in Acadia National Park. He spent the winter of 2009/2010 on an organic farm and forest in Vermont, learning sustainable land-management practices before returning to the SCA this season as a Project Leader with the Native Plant Corps.

Joe is thankful for the chance to continue to develop his outdoor leadership skills, paddle a canoe to work each day, and imbide the lessons of a unique National Wilderness Area in northern Minnesota.
