July, 2009

The Great Plains FIREMON team is now in its 2nd full month and the crew is performing incredibly well! To close out June the team responded to a tall order at the Rosebud Agency by knocking out 23 plots in six days. After long days in the field, we enjoyed a little R & R while staying at the Salt Camp Cabins and Bed and Breakfast. Our first ‘hitch’ in July was spent working out of the house in Sturgis, seeing as how it was follow-up to our time at Rosebud. The team then traveled to Crow Creek Agency on the 13th for a full 8 day hitch. In addition to the nine re-measurements that were done, the crew also installed five new plots. While at Crow Creek we enjoyed the near legendary hospitality of our primary contact, Amos Isburg. The team also had the opportunity to explore the surrounding region, including a day trip to the state capitol of Pierre, SD. Editing function.
