The Huyck Preserve and Biological Research Station, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in upstate New York, accomplishes its unique mission in four key areas: conservation, scientific research, education, and recreation. The 2000-acre preserve's mission is to preserve the natural beauty of the Rensselaerville Falls, the watershed of Lake Myosotis and surrounding lands; to conduct long-term research on natural systems to understand and protect the Earth's biodiversity, and to increase appreciation of this effort through innovative, field-based educational programs and recreational activities.
The Preserve seeks an Executive Director who will ensure that the Preserve's current vibrant programs and accomplishments will continue and grow while providing administrative oversight of the Preserve's day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree or higher in a field related to the Preserve's goals and activities; familiarity with and support for all areas of the Preserve's mission; administrative work experience; experience in nonprofit management, grant writing, and fundraising; and excellent organizational and communications skills.
