http://www.oregon.gov/OPRD/JOBS/jobs.shtml under Permanent Positions - Park Ranger 1 - Closes August 22, 2012.
The position that I have open under this job description is the trails ranger for the management unit. Lots of old logging roads have been inherited for multi-use trails with their own unique challenges in transferring into a sustainable trail system. The work requires seeking out and leading a number of different volunteers and work crews. Aside from the regular duties a park ranger encounters, the trails and day-use areas will be her/his main focus. A number of recreational opportunities stem from the trails - including mountain biking, horseback riding, forested disc golf, orienteering, and much more. Partnering groups have emerged to assist in these developments and require someone with the capacity to harness their enthusiasm while keeping natural resource concerns in mind.
You'll notice in the job description that the duties are broad (of which they should be) and that 2 positions are open. One is for trails focus and the other is to fill a need for an individual with water and sewer facilities experience.
