Youth Enrichment Strategies (YES) is a nonprofit agency serving youth and families in Richmond, California. The YES Camp-to-Community (C2C) Coordinator is a part-time, 30 hour/week position responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of the C2C Program which serves to engage
Richmond and West Contra Costa County youth, ages 14 - 17, in outdoor leadership development opportunities. The C2C Coordinator will also support YES’ Executive Director and staff with program
development, data management, and evaluation. The C2C Coordinator works both on and off site in direct service capacities. S/he will report to the Executive Director and Program Associate.

PRIMARY PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Work with Executive Director, staff, and youth to design and implement a comprehensive C2C
program curriculum with a principle focus on Youth Development best practices.
 Conduct orientations, convene meetings, provide capacity-building and maintain ongoing follow-up
with C2C youth, parents, and agency partners.
 Facilitate and oversee youth placements as counselors-in-training at YES summer camps and as youth
leaders at local agencies with an outdoor or environmental stewardship focus.
 Cultivate and maintain ongoing relationships with C2C youth, their families, and agency partners.
 Work with agency partners to ensure C2C youth receive academic and career support.
 Lead overnight backpacking, camping, and additional leadership and day outings with youth.
 Identify trainings for youth, staff, and providers to emphasize and incorporate Youth Development
principles into YES’ existing model of service delivery.
 Develop program materials including assessments, surveys, brochures, fliers, and forms.
 Collect and maintain outcome data for project and participant files. Provide report data as needed.
 Help inform evaluation design and program development/revision to reflect emerging community
issues and current youth culture.
 Attend community meetings and selected events.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
 Must have a passion to lead youth and work with them as partners.
 Demonstrated ability to articulate a vision about preparing youth for the future - from social,
economic, cultural and personal perspectives - to partners, funders and the community.
 Experience leading adolescent youth from diverse socio-economic backgrounds and cultural
backgrounds.
 Appreciation of the outdoors and experience in natural settings.
 Demonstrated success in facilitating and leading groups of both youth and adults.
 Relationship management skills and experience in fostering a team approach.
 Demonstrated success in creating collaboration among youth-serving partner organizations, ideally
through a Youth Development lens.
 High level of organization and attention to detail.
 Excellent verbal skills, including public speaking and written communication.
 Highly positive and enthusiastic style capable of motivating others.
 Ability to multi-task, be persistent, and resolve conflicts as they arise.
 Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
 Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
 Prior experience maintaining databases with client/participant information.
 Completion of undergraduate degree or equivalent.
 Must have own transportation.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
 Familiarity of Richmond and youth in the community.
 First hand experience in the field of Youth Development.
 Prior teaching experience and/or facilitation.
 Bilingual (English and Spanish).

COMPENSATION
This is a part-time, 30 hour per week position with the opportunity to go to full-time in six months. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
