Job Summary: The Sierra Club is seeking a director for our Mission Outdoors program. This nationwide initiative connects people with nature and with one another, increasing their commitment to conservation and cultivating community leadership. We are looking for someone who can expand the program’s reach with forward-thinking initiatives that engage youth and diverse constituencies—communities of color, military families and veterans, and underserved populations.

The ideal candidate will have a related degree and/or over 5 years experience in outdoor education, conservation, or a closely related field. Demonstrated success with program development, staff management, and fundraising is essential. Previous experience working collaboratively with communities of color, advocates for youth, military families/veterans and/or underserved populations is also important.

Job Location: San Francisco, CA preferred, but could be flexible.

Time Frame: This is a permanent, full-time position.

Compensation: Competitive based on experience with an excellent benefits package.
