I served as an Ecosteward Intern with the Nature Conservancy, based in Keene Valley, Adirondacks, NY for 3 months. I worked with monitoring watershed management practices and strategic invasive species planning and removal.
While doing this internship I lived with the Adirondacks Conservation Corps on Little Tupper Lake. I was fortunate to be able to work, live, and play with them during my internship. I enjoyed the experience and learning, so I applied to fill a vacant spot on the corps for 3 additional months.
The Adirondack experience taught me more than I can capture in this paragraph about life, working with people, and a respect for nature. I still keep in touch with friends from the program and this program guided me into working with the SCA Sustainability Corps.
