Partnership project between SCA and the Trail Town Program to promote sustainable development in the towns along the Great Allegheny Passage. Project Leader: Elisa Mayes Project Dates: February - December 2011 Email Address: emayes@thesca.org
Social Media has become a daily activity for everyone these days. Whether you post statuses or tweets or any other online update, social media is a tool for everything. And here at TTOC we use a personal Facebook friend page to share what we as a group have been working on since we started in snowy February. Each day posts are made about upcoming events or activities happening along the Great Allegheny Passage Trail Towns. Many of our friends "comment and like" and often come out to help with these events such as the May 7th events of Train Day, West Newton Clean-up, and Paint, Plant, & Chalk. We find new friends and new friends find us and help share the good news of the Trail Town Outreach Corps. Add us today! - http://www.facebook.com/TrailTownOutreachCorps
TTOC also maintains the Twitter page for the Great Allegheny Passage. We follow and tweet and retweet activites related to the Trail. The site gains new followers each week. This is also used to post events and news along the Trail. A trending topic has been created #rideofyourlife. www.twitter.com/GAP_Trail
Both of these medias help reach out to locals and visitors to the Great Allegheny Passage to learn more of what happens along the Trail and Trail Towns.
