Joe Naiman (Project Leader)

Hailing from the great southern state of Florida, Joe Naiman has landed far from home into the great wilds of Idaho. As an avid hiker, he is excited to be able to explore the southern tip of the Canadian Rockies as well as the areas along the Continental Divide this year. In addition he is stoked to be working with a great staff at SCA Idaho AmeriCorps, and grateful for the opportunity to leave a lasting mark on a young and still growing program.

His primary duties with the SCA this year will be in the field, providing guidance and managing the trail crews, as well as aiding with the managing of all other crews while in the field. He is well versed in the technical aspects of trail work and loves to teach, making this opportunity an excellent fit for him.

Some of his outdoor background includes camping through the Boy Scouts of America since the age of 5, a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail, volunteer trail work on the Appalachian Trail and the Florida Trail, and leading a crew of 6 to 12 on the Pacific Crest Trail last year. He also loves boating and other aquatic activities and is hoping to get a chance to explore the many creeks, streams, and rivers this year with a fly fishing rod in hand.
