Wisconsin Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA positions! We're Hiring now!

We currently have openings for full-time 12-month positions that start in late summer 2011! Wisconsin Campus Compact is a statewide coalition of 32 colleges and universities established to encourage and enhance campus engagement in the community. Through the WiCC AmeriCorps*VISTA program, 37 AmeriCorps*VISTA members will be placed throughout Wisconsin on college campuses and with community organizations. VISTAs spend a year of service collaborating with students, faculty, staff and community partners, supporting community service and service-learning programs, developing strong campus-community partnerships focusing on anti-poverty outcomes, and improving access to college for low-income people. Members serve in a wide variety of communities on campuses of all types -- small and large, public and private -- in all corners of the state. VISTAs apply to specific positions based on interests and follow a typical interview and background check as some sites work with children. Applications will be reviewed as received, with preference given to applications received in early April 2011. Interviews will begin in late-April or early May with selections made by mid-May 2011. Position begins with paid national training scheduled in summer 2011.
