Extension Agent in Natural Resoures - Carolina Clear

JOB DESCRIPTION This position will provide water quality protection, water resource conservation and watershed management outreach programming primarily in the Lowcountry region of South Carolina including Berkeley, Dorchester and Charleston Counties. Oversight and coordination of specific goals and regional Carolina Clear activities will also be provided.

The position is a unique opportunity to provide outreach programming via Extension in natural resource topics with a focus on watershed management, water quality protection, and stormwater awareness and management.

The position is located in Charleston, SC. Position is full time, 37.5 hours per week. Salary range is $32,500 to $38,500, commensurate with experience.

REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in natural resource management, hydrology, environmental science or planning field at a minimum; Master’s degree in one of the mentioned fields preferred. The successful candidate will have knowledge of watershed-related issues as well as experience coordinating groups and relating information to different audiences. Ability to work constructively with teachers, youth, public agencies, the private sector, government and the general public. Interest in program marketing and communication preferred. Experience in Extension programming is also preferred. Working knowledge of relevant federal and state environmental policy. Ability to lead and work among a team. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including computer fluency (word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications).
