Green Mountain Club
The Green Mountain Club (GMC), a century old non-profit recreation, conservation and volunteer organization responsible for the protection and management of the Long Trail system seeks a dynamic, energetic and highly motivated Executive Director. The successful candidate will oversee the work of GMC staff, including business operations, marketing, development, fundraising, land acquisition, field operations, publications, education and public relations. The Executive Director will be responsible for effective management of financial resources, staff and volunteers to ensure the implementation of policies and programs which support the mission of the club. This position also provides support to the 14 regional GMC Sections in their effort to implement club and section goals.
Qualifications: A minimum of five years management experience, preferably in a non-profit setting. Must have successful fundraising experience, excellent communication skills and a collaborative leadership style. Must be able to recruit, motivate and lead volunteers and have the ability to manage 12 full time staff and 30 seasonal staff. Must be committed to enhancing and protecting hiking opportunities in Vermont. Experience with land acquisition projects preferred.
