Conservation Crew Leader

Conservation Crew Leader

The Vermont Youth Conservation Corps is currently looking for energetic and resourceful Crew Leaders to work in Vermont’s Green Mountains for our 2011 field season.

Leading a crew for the VYCC is a job unlike any you've ever had before! As a Crew Leader you will live and work in the outdoors and complete conservation projects such as trail construction, bridge building, and stone stair case construction. After a comprehensive training, you will be responsible for managing these work projects and ensuring high-quality standards are met. You will also serve as a teacher and a role model to the young people on your crew by building a strong community, ensuring the health and safety of your crew, and teaching both life and job skills. This job will stretch your comfort zones, but the rewards and sense of accomplishment which you’ll gain are immeasurable.

Positions vary in length, from 3 to 5 months between the months of April and October and include three weeks of training. For more details about the positions and to apply check out our website at: http://www.vycc.org/positions.html
