10% of Chicago, New York Sales to Support Youth Stewardship of Local Parks
(CHICAGO, IL) February 14, 2013 —- The term “green tea” took on a whole new meaning today when the Student Conservation Association (SCA) announced a new cause-related marketing partnership with Argo Tea, the Chicago-based food and beverage company responsible for pioneering the innovative tea café concept.
Argo Tea will provide SCA with 10% of the proceeds from all Irish Crème Tea Latte sales between February 15 and St. Patrick’s Day, and 10% of all Green Tea Strawberry Creme purchases from March 18 to May 5 at more than 20 Chicago and New York City locations.
“We are thrilled to name SCA as our ChariTea partner of the season,” states CEO and co-founder of Argo Tea Arsen Avakian. “We are inspired by how much SCA has accomplished over its rich 55-year history in furthering the conservation of our planet’s natural resources and motivating the next generation to embrace sustainability practices as a way of life.”
SCA, the national leader in youth service and stewardship, annually places thousands of student interns and volunteers in national parks, forests and urban greenscapes where they gain valuable career skills and experience as they help protect wildlife and habitats on public lands.
In the Chicago area, SCA members serve with the Chicago Department of the Environment, the Field Museum and Friends of the Forest Preserve, among many others. In New York, SCA partners include the Hudson River Park trust, the National Parks of New York Harbor and the NYC Department of Environmental Protection.
“Argo Tea’s commitment to sustainability and community aligns perfectly with SCA’s own values, making this a perfect partnership,” states SCA Corporate Relations Director Peter Bokolas. “Together, we are focused on protecting our environment and engaging our youth to spur a better quality of life for all.”
