Mattahunt School Educator-LOCAL ONLY

Mattahunt Environmental Educator Description:30 hours a week local only. SCA environmental educator will help to support the 4th and 5th grade teachers with the necessary support to help increase planning and implementing time around the science curriculum to improve MCAS scores. The SCA educator will work with the teachers to incorporate an outside component as well to help engage students to better understand the concepts of the Foss science kits and it’s relation to the outdoors. The educator will attend the Foss Science kit trainings, develop lesson plans, leading interactive hands-on science based activities and outdoor activities incorporating the Foss science kits theme. Meet with teachers during their PD time to plan and debrief lessons. Meet with program manager once a week to check in. Help coordinate and plan a school-wide community event. Complete required program reporting and documentation in MYSCA. Follow all SCA policies & procedures as required for the position. Manage budget and necessary purchasing for program and or project. Manage relationships with School partners i.e. teachers and administrators. Upload program updates on the Boston Facebook, Twitter, Blogging and Instagram accounts. Follow all SCA policies & procedures as required for the position, Facilitate program operations: tools & equipment, work schedule as necessary. Manage all medical and first aid aspects. Communicate with full time SCA field staff as required
