Invasive Species/Wildlife Survey Intern

Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge is located about 3 miles SE of Tishomingo, Oklahoma at 12000 South Refuge Road. The Refuge is located in the southcentral part of the state about a 2 hour drive NNW of Dallas, Texas and about a 2 hour drive SSE of Oklahoma City, Ok.

You will remove invasive plants and animals using tree shears mounted on a small skid steer loader, brushcutter/weedeater, chainsaw, hand lopers, other mechanical means and/or herbicide as well as traps (50%); compute, compile and summarize data in tabular, graphic, geographic or narrative form, (5%); map occurrence and percent cover of invasive plant species, (5%); recruit and supervise volunteers to aid with the removal and mapping of invasive plant and animal species, (5%); maintain removal equipment, (5%); assist with many wildlife surveys, farming and other Refuge needs, (30%).
