Talkeetna, AK: two and half hours drive north of Anchorage on well-maintained roads.
Alternating with Park Ranger in presenting regular daily talks to visitors, averaging 22 in number, in Mountaineering Room of Talkeetna Historical Society Museum.Creating new presentations and delivering them.Greeting visitors to Talkeetna and this South District of Denali National Park and Preserve.Preparing for and directing several one-day summer camps for local youth monthly.Assisting in preparations for the centennial of the first successful ascent of Mt. McKinley and the International Mountain Conference on sustainable summits, to be held September 8-11, 2013. Computer skills will be of assistance.Working together with Ranger Station staff on many ad hoc projects.Housing is a private apartment with shared bathroom in government-owned residence utilized by other seasonal employees, male and female. Common kitchen facilities, with lounge and terrace areas.
