From California, Olivia Herrera is studying Marine Biology with the goal of “advanding the educational achievement in environmental safety within our country and world, which will benefit society as a whole.”
A very bubbly and aspiring accountant, Jazmine Gibbs took advantage of the Spring Academy to expand her knowledge of NPS opportunities. She is returning Fort McHenry National Monument in Maryland to complete that term before pursuing her next endeavor.
From Savannah State University, Danielle Bailey displayed tenacity, leadership, and creativity when she coordinated a skit that represented her group experience during the NPS/SCA Grand Teton Academy.
Hailing from Lowell,MA, Charly Chea, has taken on various rolls at Lowell Historic National Park. He is very excited to return with fresh energy and new information that will empower him to take on further responsibilities.
A student at NYU, Ashley Poon took advantage of the alternative Spring Break to explore various career options in the national park service. She was able to make connections and visualize herself in a position with public affairs.
Shandrika Davis attends University of Baltimore and currently works as
an interpretive ranger with living history at Fort McHenry National
Monument
Pya Langley attends Savannah State University where she studies Communications. "I plan to use this program to help me grow socially by meeting people from different parts of the US. I also have a passion for preserving the environment and its natural resources."
Naramena McCray attends Alambama A&M where she studies environmental studies. She has a strong background in leadership initiatives in Alaska. "I am most interested in environmental education and protection, climate change,invasive species and pest management, forest ecology and management also seems interesting, but honestly I am curious about every environmental field. I plan return to Alaska and work to ensure environmental stability."
Eduardo Hermandez-Calo is a masters student at the University of
Puerto Rico and works as an instructor at the UPR Ecology Center. "I
want to expand my knowledge to new ecosystems and the effects of
different temperatures in those systems."
Chelsey Palmer attends Navajo Tech College where she studies Art and Wildlife Management. She has worked in Grand Canyon National Park as an
interpretive ranger
Breanna McArthur attends Alabama A&M where she studies Psychology and
Sociology. "I want to acquire a greater understanding of natural
sciences and environmental education. I want to be an intern because I
am a leader and it is my responsibility to assist my environment."
Cecily Zhu attends Suny ESF for environmental studies and is
interested in public policy and politics in relation to environmental
issues and settings.
April Hamblin attends Richard Stockton College of New Jersey where she
studies environmental science. It was through this program that she developed a passion for entomology. "I wish to earn a Master’s degree in Conservation, Entomology, or Museum Studies."
Lianna Duran is a psychology student at St. Mary's University and
plans to further her education through a Master of Arts program with an Ecopsychology focus. "I wish to help create healthier environment for a people and wildlife through this program.
