Cache, Equipment, & Uniform Assistant

The Student Conservation Association (SCA), America’s #1 conservation service organization seeks qualified applicants to support programs.  This position is located in Charlestown, NH.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain equipment  to meet SCA, outdoor industry, and OSHA standards; participate in the development of safety and use standards
  • Prepare, distribute, ship, receive, repair, and inventory equipment, first aid, and uniform supplies as needed for all SCA programs and functions
  • Maintain positive and beneficial relationships with current equipment vendors and establish new vendor accounts to effectively and economically ensure that programs are provided with quality equipment
  • Manage and improve the Equipment Asset Tracking System/Inventory
  • Purchase, maintain, repair, and supply trail tools in a manner consistent with SCA standards and ensure that the tool storage/ workspace meets all SCA and OSHA standards
  • Assist SCA programs with the purchasing and loaning of gear as needed
  • Help facilitate Leader Trainings
  • Meet all requirements of a designated field staff member, visit crews as a rover or serve as Crew Leader, when needed, and serve as Program Responder

Qualifications:

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must have ability to legally work in the US
  • Ability to perform manual, physical labor for up to 8 hours per day, exposed to the elements and must occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds or more
  • 2-3 years experience working in a supply and logistics work environment and knowledge of outdoor equipment and tools
  • Team leadership and supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of programming, outdoor field experience,  and youth leadership
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Intermediate data MS Office knowledge
  • Experience working with inventory or asset tracking systems
  • Certified as Wilderness First Responder with CPR
  • Willingness to travel
  • Valid driver’s license and MVR that meets SCA standards required
  • Ability to meet SCA’s criminal background check standards

Compensation: full time, season (9 months), $12/hour
