I was born in Texas, grew up in Michigan, and have always loved the great outdoors. My hobbies include hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping. I joined the Marines in 2005, did three deployments to include Iraq, and Afghanistan. Recently I Honorably discharged in May 2013, to further my education, and pursue a civilian career. I have always had an interest in becoming a firefighter, after doing some research into the different types of firefighters, I chose Wildland Firefighter. Mostly, because you get to work in some of the most spectacular lands this country has to offer. At the same time still serving with a sense of purpose, and protecting communities. After the SCA Veterans Fire Corps I hope to leave with the necessary skills to successfully gain employment with the U.S. Forest Service.
