SCA Bay Area School Year Program!

Are you 15-19 years old? Do you want to...meet new friends from all over the Bay Area? Get outside? Get your hands dirty working in parks and greenspaces? Gain camping and leadership skills? Earn over 60 community service hours?

Apply for the SCA School Year Program!

  • December 2012 - May 2013
  • Attend one weekend event and one evening meeting each month.
  • Weekends include service projects and recreation trips. Some are overnight.
  • This program is free and gear is provided.
  • Summer crews are available.

SCA Bay Area at Facebook

SCA has joined Facebook! San Mateo County youth and two leaders are working Saturdays in October to remove non-native invasive weeds that are going to seed along a public access "BCDC" (San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission) trail that runs along the campus of Facebook in Menlo Park, CA. Workers got a bike tour of campus and been promised a tour of the Facebook offices, plus dinner in the FB cafeteria.

From San Francisco to the Rocky Mountains

Molly Barth has always enjoyed the outdoors and had been car camping many times before her first SCA crew in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado after her junior year of high school. But her 2005 summer crew was like no camping she had done before and grounded in her mind that she loves the outdoors, hiking, and working to protect the environment.
