• Taking responsibility for being away from home for an extended period of time.
• Commiting to SCA conduct standards*.

• Take a hike or walk with 20-30 lbs in their backpacks.
• Break in their new boots!
• Practice drinking lots of water.
• Read about conservation, volunteerism & our National Parks.

*Violating SCA’s conduct standards is grounds for dismissal. Some of the conduct standards include abstaining from sexual activity, illicit drugs, alcohol and tobacco while on the Crew.
