
SCA's Summer Conservation Crews are teams of high school students working in local parks for six weeks over the summer. From July 1st to August 9th, students work 35hrs a week in National Capital Region parks with one day each week reserved for environmental education field trips. Transportation will be provided from an assigned metro stop and students will return to that designated stop at the end of the workday.

Don't forget your Username and Password for your SCA Profile and please take your time in answering the essay questions thoroughly. The program is very competitive and only students who answer the essay questions thoroughly will be allowed to participate in the program. If you are accepted into the 2013 Summer Program, we will send several forms that you'll need to fill out and get signed by a parent/guardian before the start of the program. This includes a medical form and payroll paperwork. We'll also schedule a mandatory orientation meeting (in June) that will give you a chance to meet SCA DC program staff, complete necessary paperwork and ask any questions you might have about our summer program.

2013 Conservation Leadership Corps Program for High School Aged Students 15-19 yrs old from DC, VA, & MD.
SCA's Conservation Leadership Corps Program will have crews of high school students working in local parks one weekend a month from January 2013-May 2013. As a member of a CLC you will:
Transportation will be provided to and from a metro stop. Lunch and work gear (hats, longsleeve shirts, gloves, helmets, and tools) will also be provided to all students in the program.

This year, the CLC Program weekends are as followed (set but subject to change depending on weather):
You must be available to participate in every CLC activity. The once a month Green Jobs Curriculum training will happen after school during the week before the scheduled CLC weekend. Those dates will be determined depending on CLC member's and Crew Leader's availability during the week.

Meet new people, work outside, and earn your volunteer service hours. The SCA has lots of 2011 volunteer opportunities, and participants receive priority placement for paid DC Summer Commuting Conservation Crews.
