Haleakala National Park has a variety and diverse ecosystems, ranging from cinder desert, mesic shrubland to wet rainforest and coastal strand. A weeks work may be in any of these locations.

Your responsibilities will include: Hiking and camping in remote backcountry locations Monday through Friday.  While there the majority of the time will be spent hiking to alien plant invasions and controlling them using mechanical and chemical means.  Other duties may include monitoring native species; propagating and transplanting native plants for restoration and entering computer data.

Valid driver`s license; ability and willingness to undergo a required criminal history background check; excellent hiking ability; ability to work independently and with minimal supervision in steep, mountainous terrain in inclement weather; minimum two o
